Vacancy is up slightly; absorption is in the red to start 2018. 

  • The San Antonio office market vacancy rate stood at 10.4 percent nearing the end of the first quarter—up slightly from 10.2 percent this time in February 2018.
  • Year-to-date net absorption was a negative 315,889 sf, and no new space was delivered to the market.
  • The amount of space under construction totaled 963,737 sf.

San Antonio is the second most preferred city for millennials. 

  • According to local media experts and reports from Forbes, San Antonio is drawing in the most millennials of any city in Texas, even surpassing​ Austin.

​The labor force grew the fastest of the state’s major metros.

  • The San Antonio labor force grew at a strong 3.4 percent last year, well above Texas’ 1.4 percent stride and the fastest of any of the state’s major metros.​
