EL PASO – Jordan-Foster Construction has started work on the Playa Drain Trail.
The 3.4-mile trail will be built on the Playa Drain, a dry ditch that goes from Ascarate Park to Ysleta High School.
Work is set to finish by the end of August 2018.
The health foundation is contributing $2.5 million for the design and construction of the trail.
The city is contributing $300,000 from the quality of life bond for trail amenities such as benches, shade structures and lighting.
