Far East El Paso green-lights transportation projects

​​​EL PASO – Construction is already a common sight in Horizon and Far East El Paso and it will continue to be so for the next two years.

Four major projects are set to start soon.

Eastlake Blvd. widening from I-10 to Darrington Rd.

• Cost: $2​6 million
• Start: spring 2018
• Project: widen to six lanes, hike and bike trails, sidewalks, ​raised/landscape​d medians, illumination, traffic sign at Darrington Rd.​

Pelicano Drive widening from Loop 375 to Darrington Rd.

• Cost: $18 million
• Start: spring 2019
• Project: widen to six lanes, hike and bike trails, sidewalks, raised/landscaped medians, illumination.

Mission Ridge II Construction to connect Pelicano Dr. and Paseo Del Este Dr.

• Cost: $5 million
• Start: spring 2019

Darrington Rd. widening from Pellicano Dr. to Eastlake Blvd.

• Cost: ​$12 million
• Start: late fall 2019
• Project: widen to six lanes, hike and bike trails, sidewalks, raised/landscaped medians, illumination.
