​​​​​VICTORIA – Victoria County experienced about $400 million in insured damages from Hurricane Harvey, but the cost of uninsured damages is unknown, according to Mark Hanna, public relations and membership manager for the Insurance Council of Texas.

In Victoria County, between 30,000 and 35,000 insurance claims have been made because of damage from the hurricane. 

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there were about 35,000 households in the county in 2010.

The storm caused about $19 billion in damages to insured property in the state.
