Construction has started on the first phase of Tarleton State University’s Fort Worth campus with a $41 million, 76,000-sf academic building.

By the end of 2018 the entire campus will be nearly complete.

Classes are set to begin in fall 2019 for about 2,500 students.

The goal is for the campus to serve 9,000 students by 2030.

Located just west of the Chisholm Trail Pkwy. and spanning about 80 acres, the property was donated by the Walton Group.

The new location will be an outreach campus with an expansion of the university’s engineering program.
