LA PORTE – Land at the corner of Bay Area Blvd. and Fairmont Pkwy. is slated to become a master-planned community.
The project will encompass more than 26 acres and feature:
- a senior-living center that will be on 7.5 acres;
- multifamily units that won’t exceed 350;
- 650 single-family detached homes are planned—single-family homes will start around $200,000 and possibly extend to the low $300,000s;
- small space for commercial development.
La Porte City Council issued a conditional use permit and authorized creation of a municipal utility district for the project in December 2017. Steps to create the MUD district are underway.
