LBJ Student Center’s $31M expansion

SAN MARCOS – Texas State University regents approved a more than 22,000-sf expansion for the LBJ Student Center at 700 Moore St.

The $31 million project will include an additional ballroom, conference rooms, meeting spaces, shared spaces for informal student gatherings and study spaces.

Construction is set to begin in spring 2018 and be substantially completed in two years.

This expansion is a part of a ten-year master plan for the campus based on student growth.

The master plan includes an additional 1.25 million sf of academic space, 500 new beds, 200 new dining seats and 2,000 new parking spaces in the coming years.
