For sale! Property near Georgetown’s historic town square
GEORGETOWN – Three properties near Georgetown’s historic town square are up for sale.
The city is selling the Visitors Center at 103 W. Seventh St. and the Municipal Court at 101 E. Seventh St., both on the downtown square.
Also for sale is the historic Post Office at 113 E. 8th St., sitting one block east of the square and currently home to Georgetown City Hall.
The buildings represent more than 25,000 sf of commercial space.
All three are zoned for mixed-use functions.
City spokesman Keith Hutchinson said the sales were part of an effort to move city functions into a former public library and another city-owned building.
Hutchinson elaborated that the city’s downtown master plan calls for a more mixed-use and pedestrian-oriented atmosphere.
