This week's South Texas Drilling Permit Roundup takes a look at the top oil drillers in Corpus Christi and surrounding cities.CORPUS CHRISTI – Of the 13 companies that filed for drilling permits with the Railroad Commission of Texas, three of them were from Corpus Christi and its surrounding cities.

Corpus Christi-based Sabalo Energy LLC:

  • filed 22 drilling permits in 2​017;
  • has numerous leases in Howard County where it uses horizontal wells to target the Spraberry geological formation; and,
  • produced more than 387,000 barrels of oil and more than 315 million cubic feet of natural gas from January through November 2017.

Refugio-based T-C Oil Company LLC:

  • filed 12 drilling permits in 2017;
  • portfolio consists of vertical oil wells in Bee, Goliad, Refugio and Victoria counties; and,
  • produced more than 778,000 barrels of crude oil and 4.6 billion cubic feet of natural gas from January through November 2017.

Corpus Christi-based Acock Anaqua Operating Company LP:

  • filed 11 drilling permits in 2017;
  • primarily drills vertical oil wells on leases in Victoria and Refugio counties; and,

  • produced​ more than 335,000 barrels of crude oil and 555 million cubic feet of natural gas from January through November 2017.
