2,500-acre Barefoot Ranch near Athens sold

​​​​​​​​LARUE ​– The 2,500-acre Barefoot Ranch just south of Athens has been sold. 

Henderson County records say that DTY Investments LP, a company founded by Lubbock businessman Darin Yat​​es, purchased the hunting, fishing, and farming resort. It was originally listed at $59.5 million.​​

International Icon Properties​ brokered the deal. In 2016, the company brokered the sale of the 535,000-acre W.T. Waggoner Ranch near Wichita Falls. Center Research Economist Dr. Charles Gilliland wrote about the transaction​ in the October 2016 issue of Tierra Grande magazine.
