Hey, neighbor! Convention center, meet Marriott

​​​AUSTIN – The Austin Convention Center is getting a new next-door neighbor.

The Austin Marriott Downtown has broken ground​ on E Cesar Chavez St. between Trinity St. and San Jacinto Blvd.

The hotel will have 613 rooms, a massive pool deck, two cocktail bars, and 64,000 sf of meeting space.

It is expected to open in summer 2020.
