LEWISVILLE – City Council shifted funding for the planned nature center, taking on the full $20 million for the project after initial plans had it funding half.

Currently, the city has set aside $4.434 million for the project.

The area for the Green Centerpiece is broken up into two categories, Central and Expanded Areas.

Together, these areas equal 6,726 acres of land.

This is about 24.6 percent of the land within the current city limits of Lewisville.

Initial designs for the nature center show it will be 31,000 sf.

Designing the nature center will begin in 2018 and will be completed by 2019.
