The agreement is related to an ExxonMobil-Saudi Arabia Basic Industries Corp. joint venture known as Gulf Coast Growth Ventures.

The lease is for a 13-acre multipurpose cargo dock and 35-acre marine terminal facility at the Port of Corpus Christi.

Exxon and SABIC selected a 1,300-acre parcel near Gregory for the ethane steam cracker plant earlier this year.

The facility will use ethane gas supplied in the United States in order to export polyethylene and monoethylene glycol around the globe.

It is currently going through a lengthy permitting process.
The plant is tentatively scheduled to be operational in 2022.
