EL PASO – The $78 million restoration of the historic Plaza Hotel is set to begin in January 2018.
The project, led by Paul Foster, includes plans for a 131-room, 4.5-star boutique hotel with an adjacent parking garage with 540 spaces.
The 19-story building will have 6,500-sf of restaurant and bar space and have 7,600-sf of event space.
The 88-year-old building sat vacant in Downtown since the 1990s, and much of building has been gutted in preparation for the restoration.
The Plaza Hotel, which is located at 102 Mills Ave., is listed on the National Register of Historic places.
