Two new hotels are already under construction in this are (Source: KFDA)​AMARILLO – The Amarillo City Council has approved a new Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) for the East Gateway.

The TIRZ will allow for thousands of dollars in tax rebates for new development.

Ninety percent of the taxes currently collected are available for rebate.

The other 10 percent is kept by the taxing entities including the city, Potter County, Amarillo College, and the water district.
