AUSTIN – The community of Bella Fortuna is a step closer to rising southeast of Austin with hundreds of single-family homes and tens of thousands of square feet of commercial space.
Travis County commissioners gave preliminary approval for the developer to move ahead with the 158-acre master-planned community.
Plans call for 467 homes and 26,136 sf of commercial space on the site about a mile southeast of I-35 and Onion Creek Pkwy., with amenities such as parks, trails and recreational facilities.
Because Bella Fortuna would fall within Austin’s extraterritorial jurisdiction, Austin City Council must still approve.
Construction could begin in late 2018.
