HOUSTON – A groundbreaking ceremony has been held for a 92,000-sf H-E-B at 2300 N. Shepherd Dr.
Construction will not begin until November, but the store is expected to open fall 2018. Cost of construction only is $13 million, according to TDLR.
The Heights store is expected to be a multilevel location, like one underway in Bellaire.
The location had depended on whether Houston voters would change a rule prohibiting the sale of alcohol for off-premise consumption—and they did last November.
H-E-B also plans to open second snack manufacturing plant in Houston. The new plant will be 64,000 sf and located less than a mile away from an H-E-B distribution center at 4625 Windfern Rd.
