The bulk of the streetcar infrastructure, which was originally expected to be completed early 2018, should be completed by the end of November 2017.

The infrastructure is the largest part of the project; it includes groundwork and the installation of tracks and the overhead cable suspension system along the 4.8-mile route.

Once the project is completed by late 2018, the streetcars will run north on Stanton St. from Downtown to the University of Texas at El Paso.

The route will loop around the campus and back south on Oregon St., making 27 stops along the way.
