CORPUS CHRISTI – Houston-based Kinder Morgan has increased the capacity on a new natural gas pipeline that it estimates will cost more than $1 billion to build.
The Gulf Coast Express pipeline will stretch 450 miles from the Waha hub in the Permian Basin oil field to Agua Dulce near Corpus Christi.
The company will increased the pipeline’s capacity by nearly 13 percent, to 1.92 billion cubic feet of natural gas a day.
The pipeline has not yet begun construction, but is expected to be completed in the second half of 2019.
