Homestead happening in Comal, Guadalupe Counties
SCHERTZ, CIBOLO – Homestead, a 552-acre master-planned community in Comal and Guadalupe Counties, is in the works.
Developed by Freehold Communities, the development calls for 1,333 single-family homes, 138 attached townhomes, 88 acres of open green space, a 14-acre park, five miles of trails, and space for commercial development. A new elementary school will break ground on 25 acres in 2019.
Scott Felder Homes, Pulte Homes, and CastleRock Communities are building the homes. Lots will range in width from 55 to 75 feet, with homes ranging from 1,500 to 3,200 sf. Prices are set from $200,000 to $300,000.
Freehold Communities bought the land for Homestead from MFP Realty in 2014. The first of four phases began in March 2016. It should take around eight years to complete.
