​​​Picture of an H-E-B storeHOUSTON – HEB will open a 64,000-sf snack manufacturing plant at 10000 1/2 Genard Rd., which is less than a mile away from an H-E-B distribution center.

San Antonio-based Joeris General Construction filed a commercial construction permit for foundation and site work for $3.6 million.

Neither the number of employees that the company will hire nor the construction completion date have been finalized.

The grocer’s only other snack plant is in San Antonio. It manufactures potato, corn and tortilla chips 24 hours a day in a 40,000-sf space, according to its website. ​
