Bacon factory cures on the West Side
SAN ANTONIO – Local smoked meats maker Kiolbassa Provision Co. has expanded its footprint and production on the city’s West Side.
Over the past two months, Kiolbassa set up shop at 1545 S. San Marcos St. following a lease-purchase agreement with Surlean Meat Co.
The 88,000-sf plant will include some administrative offices, a distribution warehouse and all of the company’s bacon production.
Kiolbassa expects to make significant investments and improvements at the South San Marcos St. facility over the next few years.
Over the past year, the company has gone through numerous changes and expansion with the company now selling its sausage, chorizo and bacon in all 50 states and in Mexico.
