AMARILLO – The first guests checked in at the new $40 million Embassy Suites Hotel in Downtown Amarillo.
The hotel—one of three downtown Amarillo revitalization catalyst projects—was given a partial certificate of occupancy last week to allow guests to stay there.
The hotel’s front desk, 550 S. Buchanan St., and website are taking reservations.
All parts of the hotel are expected to be complete by the end of September 2017.
The hotel will have 226 suites, two full-service restaurants, 19,000 sf of flexible meeting space and a 10,000-sf ballroom.
About 20 conventions have already been arranged, including one several years down the road with about 1,500 people.
Embassy Suites is near I-27, I-40, Historic Route 66, Cadillac Ranch(on the right) and just nine miles from AMA Airport.
