​​​HOUSTON – A recent study by ABODO found that 45 percent of Houstonians spend more than 30 percent of their income on rent. 

Here's how different generations are faring when it comes to apartment affordability:

Millennials
  • ​About 43 percent of Houston Millennials are rent-burdened;
  • Nationally, 46.5 percent of American Millennials are rent-burdened.
Gen X
  • About 45 percent of Houston Gen Xers are rent-burdened;
  • Nationally, 44.4 percent of American Gen Xers are rent-burdened.
Baby Boomers
  • About 47.1 percent of Houston Baby Boomers are rent-burdened;
