Over 2017, Texas has added 293,400 jobs—the most of any state in the country. That all puts Texas’ annual employment growth at 2.4 percent. According to the Texas Workforce Commission, that’s twice the rate at this time in 2016. The biggest employment jump in Texas’ July 2017 month came in leisure and hospitality, which grew by 7,000 jobs.
