SAN ANTONIO – USAA Real Estate Co. has bought the Bank of America Plaza in downtown San Antonio.
While the sales price was not disclosed, the building was last appraised by Bexar County for $88 million.
The Bank of America Plaza, which opened in 1984, houses more than 530,000 sf of office space, making it the largest office building downtown.
Standing at 387 feet high, it is the fifth-tallest building in San Antonio.
USAA’s purchase included the entire 1.83 acre plaza.
Meanwhile, USAA, parent company of USAA RealCo, announced it will be moving roughly 1,500 employees to two new office buildings around town, the Vista Corporation Center and WestRidge II.
