Growing San Antonio airport takes off
SAN ANTONIO – Efforts to improve access to and from the nation’s seventh largest city via the friendly skies is paying off.
In spring 2016, the city hired Brian Pratte as the air services administrator, and since then, San Antonio International has seen its daily inventory of available seats for departing flights increase by more than 2,500.
“That’s the equivalent of filling the Grand Hyatt, both downtown Marriotts and the Hilton on a daily basis,” Pratte said.
There is plenty at stake as the city seeks to become more economically engaged nationally and internationally—increased access makes the city more competitive economic with other domestic and international markets.
