PEARLAND – GreenSpace Holdings has begun construction on a 1,017-unit facility at 2515 Westminster Rd.
When completed, the three-story building will feature 95,565 sf of rentable space, climate-controlled units and electronic access control—all built within surplus shipping containers.
According to GreenSpace Holdings,
- the patent-pending design reduces multistory self-storage construction costs by up to 50 percent,
- beats back the construction schedule by four to six months, and
- decreases occupancy required for positive cash flow to approximately 45 percent.
Using surplus shipping containers versus traditional construction methods also offers several environmental benefits by reducing new structural steel and concrete retirements.
The project is being built on a two-acre parcel on Pearland Pkwy. and FM Rd. 518 in Pearland.
