​​​​​​​​​CORPUS CHRISTI – ​AEP Texas has broken ground on a new state-of-the-art service center.

The new building will be built just past Saratoga and the Crosstown Expy., near the Guardian Funeral Home.

The $21 million building is e​xpected to be approximately 94,000 sf and is being constructed on a 22-acre site.

A news release from AEP Texas says the facility will position the company for the continued growth in the area and will replace two current company facilities in Corpus Christi.

The new building will replace the current Lipan Service Center and Southside Area Office.
 
It will house 150 employees from various departments inclu​​ding:
  • ​Distribution Construction and Service,
  • Supply Chain,
  • Design Engineering, and 
  • Customer Service.
The building is expected to be completed by September 2018.
