​​HOUSTON AREA – Apartment demand surged in the Houston metropolitan area in first half 2017. ​​

Occupancy rates were the highest in Houston suburbs where there were new apartment projects constructed during the energy boom, according to Berkadia, which used data from Houston-based Apartment Data Services. Inwood/Highway 249 had the highest occupancy rate at 95.3 percent, according to Berkadia. ​
