VIDOR – A new Walmart SuperCenter on Main St. in Vidor is 
expected to be completed by early 2018. Estimated cost of construction is $15.7 million, according to TDLR.
The new store will enclose 184,000 sf, compared to the current 70,000-sf Walmart, which opened in March 1983.
Walmart spokeswoman, Anne Hatfield, said work on the new store’s roof is almost complete and construction remains on schedule.
Walmart will hire additional employees for the larger store.
