​​​​​​​​AUSTIN – Data released by the U.S. Census Bureau show the Austin-area’s population of 20- to 24-year-olds has shrunk by about 2,010 residents between 2010–2016—from 146,710 residents to 144,700. The data, released in June 2017, also show that, overall, the Austin area is getting older.
