BEE CAVE – Ground broke on The Backyard, a 50-acre entertainment venue and planned development district on Bee Cave Pkwy. near Austin.

The project that is being built will be between RR 620 and West SH 71.

Though the ceremonial groundbreaking took place, a certificate of occupancy is being withheld for the entire project until access can be obtained to West SH 71.

Here’s what you can expect:
  • two live music venues;
  • a hotel;
  • a music recording studio;
  • restaurants and bars;
  • condominiums and townhomes;
  • office space;
  • parks; and
  • two data centers.

The original Backyard venue opened in 1993 on West SH 71, and was an outdoor amphitheater that brought in jazz, country, classical and rock concerts, but closed after relocating to Bee Cave.

The new project will continue to attract musical acts as in previous years.
