HOUSTON – Mill Steel Co., one of the nation’s largest distributors of flat-rolled carbon steel, opened a new facility in Houston with plans to expand its Steel Structural Products (SSP) cold-formed steel framing manufacturing operations.

Mill Steel’s new 100,000-sf facility houses three production lines with the capability of slitting 50,000 lb master coils up to 60" wide and .015-.250" thick.

It will distribute its entire product line from the location, including hot-rolled, cold-rolled, painted and coated steel.

The company is currently installing roll-forming lines to allow for full stud and accessory line manufacturing.
