​​​Dricoll Tower to replace River Oaks Shopping CenterHOUSTON – Renderings have emerged showing the 29-story luxury residential tower planned to replace a small corner of the historic River Oaks Shopping Center.

The plans for the Driscoll tower involve demolition of about 18,000 sf of the shopping center, which was built between 1937 and 1947.

National real estate investment firm Weingarten Realty, which owns the River Oaks Shopping Center, filed the images with the city planning and development department as part of an "application of appropriateness" ahead of a public hearing Thursday at city hall.​
