​​AMARILLO – Dallas-based NewcrestImage has broken ground onNew Tru Hilton hotel in Amarillo breaks ground the first property of its three-brand hotel campus.

The campus will have 300 rooms and is located on a five-acre site in Western Amarillo at I-40 Frontage Rd. and South Son​cy Rd.

The first of the hotels, a 94-room Tru by Hilton, is expected to open in mid-2018. 

Hyatt Place and Marriott’s Aloft will follow. 

Construction is expected to begin on those properties by the end of 2017.
