SAN ANTONIO – RadioShack closed 1,000 stores over the Memorial Day weekend as it underwent its second round of Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.

The company closed three of its four San Antonio stores. RadioShack will continue to operate its store at 13440 San Pedro Ave., along with one store in New Braunfels.

Stores in Weatherford, Pasadena, Waco, Kerrville, Magnolia, Houston, and The Woodlands are also still open.

RadioShack will continue to operate 70 brick-and-mortar stores across the country as the retailer migrates most of its sales operations to its website, RadioShack said in a news release Friday. This round of closures does not affect the company’s 500 “dealers” — or franchisee-run stores.
