ABILENE – Texas State Technical College (TSTC) has broken ground on its fourth campus in Abilene. The campus's planned site is near Abilene Regional Airport.

The new $28 million campus is expected to open for the fall 2018 semester and will house new programs at the West Texas branch of the school.

TSTC’s program will be a win for small businesses in and around the city as they struggle to find workers in high-demand skills.

The new programs will include welding, industrial maintenance among many others and will require large space to house machinery for learning purposes.

The City Council authorized the sale of approximately 52 acres of airport property between Navajo Trail and Loop 322, to TSTC for its new regional campus at a cost of $465,000.
