​​​​​EL PASO – ​After two years of planning, the University of Texas at El Paso broke ground April 7 on the newest big addition to its growing campus, the Interdisciplinary Research Building.

The Texas Legislature approved the $85 million​ to build the five-story, 162,000-sf building on the 2.1-acre site of the old Burges and Barry Halls.
