New hotel, convention center to serve old Ags

​COLLEGE STATION – ​​A new hotel and conference center is set to storm the field just in time for Texas A&M University’s 2018 football season.

The eight-story on-campus hotel is bringing 250 rooms, including 237 standard rooms, eight standard suites, three hospitality suites, and two deluxe suites, to Aggieland.

The 250,000 sf project will include a full-service restaurant and bar, 1,000 sf of retail, outdoor pool and event area, fitness center, 650-seat ballroom, and over 28,000 sf of conference and meeting space. It will join the Cain Parking Garage just off Wellborn Rd. at the previous site of Cain Hall.

Gilbane Development Company is building the yet-to-be-named hotel, which will be operated by Benchmark Hospitality. 

Texas A&M is using a public-private partnership to fund the project.
