Private resort area coming to Montecillo

​​EL PASO – EPT Land Communities is adding a Marriott-brand hotel, a public events center, and a private resort area with a pool a​nd water slides to the 300-acre Montecillo Smart Growth community.

The four-acre resort will include a clubhouse, pool with a "lazy river," a children’s splash pad, water slides, outdoor movie screen, outdoor bars, and cabanas.

The hotel will sit on three acres next to the resort.

Montecillo, the city’s first full-fledged Smart Growth community, stretches from Mesa St. to I-10. It’s projected to eventually be a $700 million-plus development with about 4,500 residences of various types mixed with restaurants, stores, offices, and entertainment venues.​​
