FULSHEAR – The City of Fulshear, a Fort Bend County municipality, purchased 15 acres of prime parkland on the northwest side of the intersection of Huggins Rd. and Dixon Rd. from J&L Duke Family Partnership. This purchase provides a total of 25 acres of parkland for the citizens of Fulshear to enjoy. Part of the purchase includes a donation by J&L Duke Family Partnership.

J&L Duke Family Partnership was self-represented in the transaction.

“Fulshear is a historic town that needs to be developed in a way that preserves its rich history and accents her natural beauty. We hope to be able to do something special here for Fulshear, Fort Bend County, and most importantly, the great state of Texas,” said Jeffrey Duke, landowner and principal in J&L Duke Family Partnership.

The City of Fulshear itself was founded on July 16, 1824, a small agricultural community centered around the Churchill Fulshear's plantation, which housed a cotton gin, flour mill and the four-story brick mansion which Churchill Fulshear Jr. built in the 1850s.
