​​HOUSTON – The Houston Airport System announced March 21, 2017 that two different companies will expand their flights to George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).

Calgary, Alberta, Canada-based WestJet Airlines Ltd. will double its Houston service with the addition of a second nonstop flight starting in May 2017.

Meanwhile, Atlanta-based tour operator Vacation Express announced it would restart its seasonal nonstop flights between IAH and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Swift Air LLC will operate the Vacation Express flights on a Boeing 737 aircraft.

IAH also is undergoing a multiphase, multimillion-dollar makeover, which includes recently opened eateries and more dining options to come.
