MESQUITE – Ashley Furniture Industries Inc. plans to build a $65 million, 850,000-sf regional distribution hub, which will add nearly 350 full-time employees to the region.
The new development will sit on a 358-acre tract of land at the eastern part of Mesquite at 3790 Faithon P. Lucas Sr. Blvd. 
The new distribution hub is expected to house $50 million of business personal property, according to city documents.
In all, the facility will add 347 workers with an average salary of $43,577 plus benefits.
Construction is slated to get underway on the new facility by the end of the year, with occupancy slated by Dec. 31, 2019.
As part of the deal, Mesquite’s economic development department gave the furniture retailer incentives tied to the development of the facility and bringing new jobs to the city.
Those incentives include:
- waive all development and utility impact fees;
- $200,000 grant per year for five years; and
- various tax reimbursements for capital investments, business personal property, and sales tax.
