​​SAN ANTONIO – The city is home to one of the largest active and retired military populations, with thousands of military families relocating to San Antonio every year.

The following options are all exceptional options for military families moving to San Antonio.

Alamo Heights and Terrell Hills

Located close to Fort Sam Houston, these neighborhoods are some of the more upscale in San Antonio.

The area centrally located, with all active bases no more than a 25-minute drive.

In addition, it is a consistently safe area and boasts some of the best public schools in town.

Kirby Neighborhood and Converse Neighborhood

Some of the more reasonably priced real estate is only five minutes away from Randolph Air Force Base and a quick drive to downtown.

It has a number of options for schools, including Judson Early College Academy, which rates as a high achieving and challenging institution.

Sea World Area and Westover Hills Neighborhood

These neighborhoods are a great option for military families stationed at Lackland Air Force Base.

It is a quick drive to both Ingram Park Mall and La Cantera shopping malls.

DeZavala and IH-10 Neighborhood

This is a great location for those stationed at Camp Bullis.

It has access to some of the best public schools in San Antonio and is near both La Cantera and Huebner Oaks shopping centers.
