AUSTIN – Plaza Saltillo, an East Austin mixed-use development won a critical final zoning approval from Austin City Council.

This cleared the way for construction to start within a couple of months on 800 apartments plus office and retail space just east of I-35 between Fourth and Fifth Streets.
The deal sets a building height limit of 70 feet for the entire project, which sits on about ten acres along Capital Metro train tracks.

Endeavor could exercise an option to build a 125-foot office building.
Capital Metro owns the land but has signed a 99-year lease with Endeavor. .
Of the 800 apartments to be built at Plaza Saltillo, 141 will be set aside as affordable.
Under Endeavor’s plan, Plaza Saltillo would encompass about 110,000 sf of retail space and 120,000 sf of office space (based on a 125-foot tall office building).
