​​​​DALLAS – Developers are starting the second phase of a $67 million mixed-use development at the University of Texas at Dallas .

An additional 275 residential units and 6,000 sf of retail space in the Northside project on 12 acres next to Floyd Rd. are being built.

The first 13-acre phase of the development started in 2015 and includes housing for 600 students plus retail space in a four-story complex of buildings at the north end of the university campus.

The second phase of the project will add mid-rise apartments and townhomes, additional shops, restaurants and entertainment venues.

The construction on the next phase started early February 2017 and is scheduled to open in the second half of 2018.
