Kansas investment firm buys second DFW data center
FORT WORTH – QTS Realty Trust has purchased a 260,000-sf data center from Health Care Service Corp. (HCSC).
The facility is the Kansas-based firm’s second mega data center in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
QTS purchased the eight gross megawatt facility for approximately $50 million, which represents an upfront cost per megawatt of approximately $6 million.
The facility has 40,000 sf of built-out raised floor and eight megawatts of gross power with powered shell that can support approximately 80,000 sf of raised floor.
Ultimately, including adjacent land, the site can support a total of more than 300,000 sf of raised floor and 60 megawatts of gross power.
The buyer financed the purchase through its revolving credit facility.
