WICHITA FALLS – The $28 million emergency room construction and renovation project at United Regional Health Care System is complete.

The newest area of the Bridwell Center for Emergency Care—the southern half of the old emergency department—created pride among the staff because their ideas and opinions were incorporated into the overall design.

Not only is the roughly 25,000-sf addition and renovated space about the same size packed with state-of-the-art equipment and functional spaces, but it also makes it a safer space for staff and space and easier to move around.

The emergency department now boasts 40 treatment and exam rooms; ten clinical decision unit rooms; eight intake rooms; three critical care rooms; two trauma rooms and six results-are-pending rooms.
