SAN ANTONIO – Pearl's international acclaim just got a boost after landing a spot on CBRE's list of retail properties that have exemplified urban placemaking.

The traditional retail model is in the midst of an overhaul and thanks to its distinctive approach, Pearl has landed a spot among the places leading the transformation.

Commercial real estate firm CBRE singled out San Antonio's Silver Ventures-developed Pearl development among 22 worldwide examples of properties driving the future of retail placemaking, or in layman's terms, drawing crowds and keeping them.

Each of the properties were chosen based on components CBRE determined were critical to developing space people would want to visit, and more importantly, keep coming back. Those components included leisure elements like restaurants, sustainability for both tenants and visitors and a strong master plan for seamlessly integrating all of it on one property.

CBRE's First Vice President of Retail, Gene Wiliams, said the redeveloped brewery has not only transformed the surrounding retail market, but has become an internationally recognized project that has redefined urban placemaking.
